North Center

north-center

Located just west of Lakeview, North Center has a colorful history dating back to the 1800s, from the production of some of the earliest motion pictures to brick manufacturing in “Bricktown” along the river. The area contains a mixture of retail, dining, and nightlife with quiet neighborhoods along the less-trafficked streets. As the value of riverfront property has increased in recent years, the area is beginning to shift in character as former industrial and manufacturing areas become desirable residential locations. North Center’s borders are the Chicago River to the west, Ravenswood Avenue to the east and Montrose and Diversey to the north and south.
