The Tri-Taylor/Little Italy area of Chicago encompasses the neighborhoods surrounding the University of Chicago and the UIC Medical Center west of the Loop. Named for its strong Italian influence, the area today is home to a diverse community of university students, Italian families, and affluent young business professionals. Housing here runs the gamut from Old World-style historic rowhouses and two- and three-flats to newer townhouses and single-family homes, and in keeping with its Italian heritage, the area is host to a range of excellent Italian restaurants and bakeries. Proximity to the Loop and the CTA Blue Line mean residents can reach the city center in mere minutes.
